World guide
Sectors
How Project Redstoneworld organizes its primary sectors, mini-sectors, and regions.
Definition of a Sector
Sectors are used to categorize the various built areas of the Project Redstoneworld map. The use of the term was suggested during Chapter 2 but did not become an implemented practice until The Great Merge. After, each large project area was considered a Primary Sector, and areas still large but too small to reach the Primary label was considered a Mini-Sector. The Primary Sector definition was clearly stated on the spot by Ijd in Devlog 25, the first ever Tower 3.0 focused devlog. Ij stated that the primary sector needed to have: A Storage system, an IMS implementation, a Power Station, a Security System, Emergency Management, considerable amount of land area, and complexity in creations. He also added that it needed to be officially approved by himself, a reference to Chapter 6.
Primary Sectors
The current list of official primary sectors is as follows, each primary sector has an ID that is a multiple of 101.
Sector 101: Founding Island
Sector 202: Main Redstone Bunker
Sector 303: Redstone Cruise Ship
Sector 404: Redstone Theme Park
Sector 707: Redstone Tower Complex
It is stated that once these five primary sectors are marked as done then the world download will release. At the time of writing only 202 and 303 are marked as done.
You may notice that sectors 505 and 606 are not present. These are disputed, and are sometimes assigned to large mini-sectors:
- The Founding Island Bunker is both written as Sector 505 and Sector 101-B sometimes, although it fits all definitions of a primary sector besides size, since it is under Founding Island it should be considered a mini-sector.
- The Blakewood Forest Rakegame and the Testing Sector are both considered for this definition, however they are both special restricted regions, so they are unlikely to be officially considered a primary sector.
It is more likely that those IDs will be assigned on further primary sectors after release in the Blakewood Region.
Sector Regions
Sectors are further grouped into Sector Regions. Founding Island is considered as being in the exact center and is in no Sector Region, besides its grouping through the FI-RTC Secured Compound. In Chapter 5 the grouping was originally based fully in cardinal direction from Founding Island, giving the West Wing, East Wing, North Wing, and South Wing. While all these terms are still used sometimes, West and East Wing are used the most, however under the region names Dos and Blakewood, respectively.
