The Return of Redstoneworld

A new determination

Tower 1 and Fouding Island in Chapter 5

After another long discontinuity, Redstoneworld returned to active development in April 2021. This marked the beginning of a much more determined period for the project, with the same core crew continuing to run things.

Sean was immediately raised to Co-Owner, while the actual terraforming and rail integration work from The Great Merge finally began in earnest. The Theme Park became the main focus of development during this period, as it was the most involved of the sectors.

A more organized staff team

The staff team became considerably more organized during Chapter 5. Proper applications were introduced, and while most of the staff were still build-focused, a few junior redstoners also joined the team.

Among them were Void and Chambo, both of whom would eventually become Admins by the end of the chapter.

Major Developments

Theme Park and the Great Merge

A large amount of work went into the Theme Park, Main Bunker, and the surrounding railway system. The Great Merge was no longer just an old plan sitting around; its actual terraforming and rail integration were now being worked on properly.

The Cruise Ship was also finally added to Redstoneworld during this chapter, although its train connections would not be completed until Chapter 6.

Founding Island

Founding Island also received a major amount of attention. A broad revitalization effort was started by Xtrwe, with several older areas being rebuilt or improved.

The FI Bunker was started, while the FI Hotel was completely redone. These projects helped bring Founding Island back into active development rather than leaving it mostly as an old part of the world.

Tower 2

The split of Tower 2

Tower 2 was part of Founding Island during this chapter and was divided into Tower 2 and Tower 2.5, with the latter eventually becoming Tower 3.0.

There were discussions about making Tower 2 its own sector because of the scale of the plans. However, actual construction on the tower remained limited for much of the chapter. Apart from the original Chapter 2 builds, most development attempts did not last.

The project was managed by another Co-Owner whose approach to the project became increasingly problematic. The situation surrounding Tower 2, together with growing questions about loyalty, would eventually become one of the first sources of tension that led toward the civil war of Chapter 6.

The Beginning of a New Group

Preparing for the 10 Year Anniversary

Rakegame was started and largely completed during Chapter 5. Rakegame is RW’s largest and most complex activity minigame, powered by over a thousand command blocks and featuring Blakewood Forest.

Near the very end of the chapter, a new player named Hudson joined Redstoneworld. With the ten-year anniversary approaching, Hudson helped bring a noticeable amount of energy back into the project.

A new group began to form around IJ, Hudson, Voidkiller, and Chambo. Compared to the existing Council group, this new group had a noticeably stronger sense of unity and would become increasingly important in the events of the following chapter.

Legacy

The Great Revival

Chapter 5 marked a major return to active development after another period of inactivity. The staff structure became more organized, the Great Merge finally began receiving serious integration work, Founding Island was revitalized, and several long-term projects were pushed forward.

It also laid the groundwork for the conflicts and alliances that would define Chapter 6, while the approaching tenth anniversary gave the project a new reason to keep moving.

Team Progression

It is notable that, as mentioned earlier, this was the first chapter to actually have applications for staff that were required for acceptance.
