Founding Island
Overview
Founding Island (FI) is the oldest sector of Redstoneworld, with builds dating back to 2013. Originally known simply as Redstoneworld, it served as the foundation of the entire project before the world expanded into multiple sectors.
Founding Island is located at the center of the map and remains one of its main areas. It contains several important historical builds, infrastructure, and projects that have developed throughout Redstoneworld’s history.
History
The Original Redstoneworld
Founding Island was originally created by TheJoCraft when Project Redstoneworld began on January 18, 2013. At the time, the entire project consisted of this area, which gradually grew through new builds, redstone creations, and other additions.
In 2016, Ij took over the project and began the Reborn era. Founding Island became the main focus of early Reborn development, with Tower 1 completed and the world translated into English.
Becoming Founding Island
As Redstoneworld expanded, the original area needed a separate name to distinguish it from the entire project. During the Great Merge in 2020, it was renamed Founding Island, reflecting its place as the original foundation of Redstoneworld.
The sector continued to receive major updates in later chapters. During the Great Revival, the Founding Island Hotel was completely rebuilt, and development of the Founding Island Bunker began.
Major Locations
Tower 1
Tower 1 is one of the most historically important builds on Founding Island. Its completion in 2016 marked the end of the original founding period and the beginning of a new stage for Redstoneworld.
Founding Island Bunker
The Founding Island Bunker is a major underground complex containing security systems, administration rooms, transportation infrastructure, storage, and other facilities. First proposed in 2021, it developed from an earlier shelter beneath Tower 1 into a much larger project.
Founding Island Hotel
The Founding Island Hotel is another notable build on the island. It received a complete overhaul during Chapter 5 as part of the wider revitalization of Founding Island.
Spawn and RCorp Rail
Founding Island contains the main spawn area and an important station in the RCorp Rail network. The network connects the sector to other major areas of Redstoneworld, making it a central part of transportation across the world.
Importance
Founding Island represents the origins of Redstoneworld and contains many of the project’s oldest and most recognizable builds. Although the world has expanded considerably since 2013, the island remains a central location for both historical preservation and ongoing development.
